life experience as employees, managers, corporate executives,
and thought leaders, to bring innovative products to market.
As we move deeper into the knowledge economy, it is understood
that companies with the best talent win. We are aware of long
term labor shortages and the challenges faced by those with
bottom line responsibility. Further, it has never been clearer
that traditional approaches to human capital management, developed
during an abundant labor supply, are not sufficient for meeting
companies’ needs going forward. We live in a time of
change, when economies around the world will have to adjust
their approach to human capital not just to grow but even
to sustain their current relative position in the global marketplace.
This will encompass all aspects of management: finance, marketing,
product development, service delivery, and company valuation.
Where today, talent is integrated among these components,
eventually it will precede them. Talent will become the scarce
resource common to all companies in a knowledge economy. It

function. We recognize there is an aspect of human capital
management that is administrative and that managing people
is as much an art as it is a science. However, we feel strongly
that those responsible for managing talent are positioned

even if they don’t know exactly how. We seek to combine
advances in technology with business discipline and social
insight to provide products, services, and insight into managing
